The Philadelphia Phillies will be under plenty of pressure heading into 2023.
Not only are they coming off a season where they made the World Series.
But, the expectations in Philadelphia are always high.
Despite making the playoffs as the final wild-card team, the Phillies showed that all it takes is to be hot at the right time to make a run.
Now after a few key offseason moves, the Phillies looked primed for another great 2023 season.
But, this year they have to play with the pressure of a World Series or bust season.
The Phillies have one of the best lineups in the National League, and it got stronger this offseason with the addition of Trea Turner.
Turner is a true difference-maker at shortstop, and he should have plenty of success atop the Phillies lineup.
Also, the Phillies added some pitching depth in Taijuan Walker and closer Craig Kimbrel.
Walker should immediately slot in as the team’s number four starter, and Kimbrel should get the first chance as the closer.
Both players have had plenty of success in the past and they will be counted on in 2023.
Overall, the National League looks to be a very tough league to win.

The San Diego Padres reloaded their roster with the addition of Xander Bogaerts.
The New York Mets added reigning AL Cy Young winner Justin Verlander, along with star shortstop Carlos Correa.
Plus, the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Atlanta Braves are all expected to be playoff teams.
The 2023 season will be highly competitive, but the Phillies are the ones with World Series or bust expectations next year.
